It’s so funny how life changes and becomes something you never would have thought would bring you such joy and happiness.
Yesterday was McCarthy’s 5 month birthday. Now that may not seem very old to you, but I feel like he is growing so fast and I want to hold onto every moment with him. So today I planned a Mommy/McCarthy day! I know he’s only 5 months , but I swear he is the best shopping partner and I can tell he loves these days when he is my main man (Sorry Troy). We are going to a wedding tomorrow so we did a little shopping for his outfit that I’m so excited to put together (watch for the pictures). I’m making him some cut off jean shorts to go with this cute little seersucker blazer, American Apparel t-shirt and some amazing loafers I found second hand. Since I was downtown I decided to stop into Frock and find myself a little treasure, and oh did I ever! Check out the great vintage necklaces , bag and top I found. The top was such a steal at the amazing price of $9.99! I have the perfect little skirt to pair it with.
Our night together was topped off with an amazing dinner of rice cereal with a bath to follow.
Troy was out at a golf tournament , so instead of sitting on the couch and feeling sorry for myself for being alone on a friday night, I decided to do some much needed cleaning that has been put off for far too long. Yep, I got out my best scrubby and went to town on the showers, baseboards, floors, you name it, I hit it!
This was my friday night…..Go ahead, try and top me!
This past weekend my husband and I finely got out for a much needed date night and it was the perfect night with summer heat, sunshine, ice cream and my favourite wine.
I felt so giddy and excited to (at last) get to spend time with him alone:) I decided it called for a fun date night outfit. This summer is the first time I have actually taken the leap and allowed lots of bright items into my clothing collection. Last summer my friend Alana Denham/Ilovedenham told me i needed to brighten up a bit and add some fun pieces. I took those words to heart…and it has done wonderful things for my wardrobe.
Yes I took a little break from blogging for the past couple days to catch up on some much needed time with friends, family , date night with the husband and a little Zumba in the park.
Have you tried Zumba? If not your missing out! I’ve been teaching Zumba for just over a year now and I can honestly say it’s one of the best workouts I have ever done. The average person ( 150 POUNDS) will burn 536 calories in 1 hour of ZUMBA! That’s almost the same amount you would burn running at a 10 minute mile pace for an hour!
One of the greatest benefits of Zumba is that it’s fun! Studies show that if your enjoying your workout you will stick to your program. If your thinking…I can’t dance! Don’t even worry about it! Zumba is simple movements that we repeat several times through out the dance.
What should you wear?
Wear something your comfortable in and also something that gives the ladies some support.
